Jayashankar Bhupalpally: The State’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Shashank Goel has directed the officials of Panchayat Raj Department to speed up construction of godowns for storing Electronic voting machines (EVMs) and complete the work by the end of September.
He along with District Collector S Krishna Aditya inspected the ongoing construction works of the godowns on the premises of the 100-bed hospital in Bhupalpally on Monday.
Stating that the EVM godowns were vital facilities, the CEO asked the officials to maintain high quality in the construction of the godowns and ensure that there are not any leakage or seepage of water besides moisture in the godowns. He said the construction of godowns for EVMs had been completed in all the districts except Bhupalpally, Mulugu and Narayanpur districts.
Bhupalpally RDO Srinivas, Tahsildhar Iqbal, Panchayat Raj DyEE Venkateshwarlu, Election Deputy Tahisdar Ravi Kumar, and representatives of the contracting agency accompanied the CEO.
