Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N. Sridhar directed officials to complete the first and second phase of the 300 MW solar power plant accounting for 219 MW by April this year.

The installation of the remaining 81 megawatts plant has to be completed by September and the entire 300 megawatts Singareni solar power should be synchronised with State Transco, he said.

Sridhar reviewed the progress of the solar plants installation along with the detailed project report of 350 megawatts floating solar plant on Maneru dam near Karimnagar at a meeting with SCCL Director (E and M) D Satyanarayana and the agencies involved in the installation of solar plants including representatives of Solar Energy Corporation of India and Central Renewable Energy department.

The SCCL is the first coal company in India to take up installation of 300 megawatts solar power plants in various Singareni areas. Sridhar asked the BHEL representatives and Singareni officials to prepare time bound plans for execution of the project effectively.

He discussed in detail the progress of installation of every plant with all the company representatives and made it clear that the work has to be completed within the prescribed time.
