Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday said the government was working on a comprehensive plan to improve infrastructure facilities in villages whose population were predominantly Dalits and tribals. The plan would be implemented in two phases based on budgetary allocations, he said.
“The downtrodden should not feel that they are being neglected in terms of getting infrastructure facilities in their villages. The move is also aimed at their economic empowerment through schemes like Telangana Dalit Bandhu scheme and providing more amenities in their villages,” he said, speaking during a discussion on ‘Palle Pragathi and Pattanna Pragathi’ in the State Assembly.
The State government was developing villages with a realistic approach, the Chief Minister said, and announced that like Basthi Dawakhanas established in GHMC limits, the State government has also decided to set up Palle Dawakhanas in rural areas.
Apart from focusing on improving amenities in villages, the State government is also paying salaries to employees of gram panchayats without any delay, he said.
