Kothagudem: Rich homage was paid to legendary playback singer SP Balasubramanyam on his first death anniversary by the members of Bhadradri Swaranjali and music lovers at Bhadrachalam town in the district on Saturday.
At a programme held at Kahal Orphanage, food items such as fruits, biscuits and bread were distributed to children by art lovers P Durgaprasad, Tippana Sidhulu, S Srinivas, Pokala Srinivas and others, in remembrance of the renowned songster.
Durgaprasad said that the lives of Telugu people from young to elder were connected with the songs sung by SP Balasubramanyam. The singer enriched the Telugu music and cinema industry with his contributions and secured a place in the hearts of all music lovers, he noted.
A musical extravaganza under the aegis of Bhadradri Swaranjali will be organised in the town on Sep 27 to pay tributes to Balu commemorating his death anniversary, informed the event organisers, Kondapalli Mahesh, T Narasimha Rao and Pogaku Lakshman and Pokala Srinivas.
