Hyderabad: The video of a boy delivering newspapers in Jagtial of Telangana went viral Thursday, following which Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao praised him for his confidence.
The boy, Jai Prakash, revealed in the video that he was continuing his schooling at a local government school while working as a paperboy. Asking what was wrong with working while studying, he said it would be useful for him in the future.
In a tweet, KTR said: “Loved this video from Jagtial Town. This young lad a Govt school student called Jai Prakash; loved his confidence, composure and clarity of thought & expression. He says what’s wrong in working while studying & goes on to say it’ll keep him in good stead in future (sic).”

The 12-year-old Jai Prakash, studying Class VIII in old government high school, said his mother was his inspiration for him to work as a newspaper delivery boy. “Earlier, my brother used to work as a newpaper delivery boy. When he stopped working, my mother asked me whether I would do the job. I said okay. She also advised me to learn only good things from others,” he told the media who sought him out after the Minister’s comment.
Rajitha, who teaches English in the school, said Jai Prakash was a quick learner. “Not only in education, he is also active in sports and other extracurricular activities,” she said.
The boy’s video has gone viral, with people lauding his self-esteem, honesty and dignity.
