Hyderabad: Nizamabad BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind accused the Congress government of delaying the process of construction of the proposed greenfield airport in Jakranpally in Nizamabad district. He demanded the State government to immediately start the process of constructing the airport in Jakranpally.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Arvind said the Airport Authority of India (AAI) had conducted a pre-eligibility study at six places in the State. The AAI had conducted a pre-eligibility study at six places in the State and sites for brownfield airports in Warangal, Adilabad and the greenfield airport at Jakranpally in Nizamabad district had been identified, he said.
For the new airports, obstacle limitation services (OLS) surveys should be conducted and the consent of the union civil aviation ministry and other regulatory and statutory bodies must be secured, he said, adding that despite repeated requests the State government was not taking steps to conduct OLS.
Coming down heavily on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the BJP MP alleged that the Chief Minister through Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency(HYDRAA) had destroyed the real estate sector. “CM has not achieved anything by setting up HYDRAA. He has destroyed poor houses and destroyed real estate. He has no grip over administration. His only intention is to loot public money,”he alleged.
