Hyderabad: Criticising Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for organising 26-day-long celebrations to mark the first anniversary of the Congress government, Malkajgiri BJP MP Eatala Rajender said the Chief Minister had become a ‘laughing stock’ by organising celebrations as his government had failed to fulfill promises made to the people of Telangana.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Rajender said the Congress government had totally failed in implementing promises made to the people of the State in the last one year and still was celebrating its one year in power.

“It’s funny that the Congress, without keeping its promises, is celebrating one year in power. People are protesting across the State demanding implementation of poll promises and the CM is celebrating one in power. He is trying to mislead people by false claims,”he alleged.

Commenting on the attack on tribals of Lagacherla, the BJP MP said the police were asked to physically assault the farmers to exert pressure on them to give up their lands for the pharma villages. After identifying those who have been protesting for eight months, the police used third degree against them, he said.

“Are Lagacherla farmers Naxalites or anti- social elements to treat them so badly,”he asked. He demanded the government to immediately release all the arrested farmers and cancel the pharma village project.
