Hyderabad: Dashing the hopes of several aspirants, the Congress high command on Saturday appointed multiple MLAs as District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents.

Many senior leaders, particularly those working at district and mandal levels, had been hoping to be elevated as DCC presidents. The State leadership had also assured them that their loyalty and commitment to the party would be recognised and rewarded with key organisational roles, including DCC posts.

However, the AICC announced the appointment of several MLAs as DCC presidents, leaving many aspirants dejected. Of the 30 district appointments, the list included MLAs Beerla Ilaiah for Bhongir, Medipally Satyam for Karimnagar, C Vamsi Krishna for Nagarkurnool, Vedma Bojju for Nirmal and MS Raj Thakur for Peddapally.

Ahead of the appointments, the Congress high command had deployed AICC examiners to gather grassroots feedback and had directed aspirants to submit applications for the posts.
