Congress betrayed students, unemployed youth: Ex‑Minister Puvvada

The BRS youth wing organised rallies across Khammam and Kothagudem accusing the Congress government of failing to honour its election promises to students and unemployed youth. Leaders including Puvvada Ajay Kumar and Vaddiraju Ravichandra criticised the government for pending fee reimbursements, lack of a job calendar, and neglect of gurukuls, alleging betrayal of the youth.

Khammam: The BRS youth wing has organised massive rallies across the erstwhile Khammam district against the Congress government’s failure to deliver its election promises made to the youth.

In Khammam a protest rally from Khammam Pavilion Grounds to ZP Centre was taken out on Saturday as part of the BRS party’s week-long protests exposing the government’s negligence in fulfilling the promises during its 1,000-day rule. Former Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, former MP Nama Nageswara Rao and senior leader Gundala Krishna participated in the protest rally.

Addressing the gathering Ajay Kumar lashed out at the Revanth Reddy government, stating that the Congress party betrayed the students and unemployed youth. Fee reimbursement arrears amounting to thousands of crores of rupees have remained pending for the past three years.

In accordance with the ‘Youth Declaration’ announced by Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, the government owes unemployment allowances ranging from Rs 1.20 lakh to Rs 1.30 lakh to each unemployed youth over three years.

The government deceived the youth by failing to announce a job calendar within 100 days and the provision of 2 lakh jobs annually. The government had issued notifications for only 16,000 jobs, while the recruitment processes for all other posts had actually been completed during the previous BRS tenure, Ajay Kumar noted.

In a similar rally taken out from Laxmidevipalli market yard to Ganesh Temple in Kothagudem, BRS parliamentary party leader Vaddiraju Ravichandra stated that no ruler who toyed with the lives of students and youths has ever survived politically.

He recalled how, following protests by thousands of students and youth at Jantar Mantar against the NEET paper leak, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was compelled to step in and have Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resign.

Ravichandra alleged that the Congress government has been neglecting as many as 1,050 gurukuls developed by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao with the resolve to provide quality English-medium education to all sections of society.
