Congress, BJP two sides of the same coin, says KTR

BRS leader KT Rama Rao accused Congress of colluding with BJP, calling both “two sides of the same coin.” He criticised bulldozer demolitions, targeted PM Modi on GST and H-1B, and termed Jubilee Hills bypoll a referendum.

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Monday termed the Congress and the BJP two sides of the same coin, charging the ruling dispensation with selective demolitions, hypocrisy and collusion with the BJP. While the Congress opposed the bulldozer justice of the BJP at the national level, the Revanth Reddy government was using the same bulldozer to demolish homes of the poor on weekends and festival holidays, despite the High Court’s advice, he pointed out.

“If you vote for the Congress, you are licensing this Bulldozer Raj to demolish our houses,” he said.

Participating in a booth-level meeting of BRS cadre from Borabanda division in Jubilee Hills constituency at Telangana Bhavan, Rama Rao condemned the demolitions of homes of the poor and vowed to rebuild the home of party activist Sardar, who ended his life after his house was demolished. He criticised the Congress government over its double standards, where the HYDRAA bulldozers targeted the homes of the poor, but not the palatial buildings of the Congress leaders, which were built in the Full Tank Level (FTL) of water bodies.

The BRS working president stated that the Congress government in Telangana carried a BJP agenda. “Both the BJP and the Congress are one in Telangana; they bulldoze people and cause communal divide,” he said, urging voters not to be misled by religious or media distractions. He invoked the BRS’s development record, including 42 flyovers and urban infrastructure development. He also cautioned that the Congress government would reverse civic gains, such as free water, after the municipal polls.

The development of Telangana, which continued unabated for a decade under BRS, had come to a halt during the Congress rule, he said, ridiculing Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for making irresponsible statements on the financial condition of the State and suggested that the latter behave responsibly.

“Revanth Reddy has done nothing but inaugurate projects completed during the BRS regime,” he added.
Reiterating that the Jubilee Hills bypoll was a referendum on the Congress’s governance, he urged voters to remain cautious and not get misled by the Congress’s inducements or false promises. He called for a bigger majority for the BRS in the bypolls to bring Revanth Reddy to his senses.

Rama Rao also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his failure to raise the H1B visa issue during his address of the nation on Sunday. Rather than addressing real issues, he had asked people to rejoice over reduction of GST rates, which were hiked by the BJP itself.

“The BJP government hiked prices over the last 10 years and marginally reduced prices as if they are doing a favour to us. Modi and the BJP are capable of only communal politics, but they will never speak about fuel prices or two crore jobs,” he remarked.
