Hyderabad: Senior BRS leaders led by Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council S Madhusudana chari, condemned the Congress government for deceiving backward classes (BCs) without implementing its Kamareddy BC Declaration after coming to power.
In a meeting held in Hyderabad on Tuesday, former Ministers and key members of BRS discussed the Congress party’s Kamareddy BC Declaration and implementation of BC reservations in local bodies among other issues of concern.
Speaking on the occasion, Madhusudanachari said the Revanth Reddy-led government was neglecting the rights of BCs. He said the BRS is committed to safeguarding the rights of BCs, and any attempts by the Congress government to erode those rights will be strongly opposed.
“The Congress government is conspiring to remove BC reservations in local bodies without considering the court judgments or obtaining the expert opinions. BRS will not allow this betrayal. We will fight until all promises made to the BCs are implemented, and Congress’s schemes to suppress BCs will be exposed,” he declared.
BRS Parliamentary Party deputy leader Vadiraju Ravichandra, Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash, and former Ministers V Srinivas Goud, Jogu Ramanna, and L Ramana accused the Congress of failing to deliver on its promises, particularly the 42 per cent BC reservation in local bodies.
“Six months have passed, and the Congress government has not fulfilled any promises made under the Kamareddy BC Declaration. We will hold them accountable until every promise is honoured,” they warned, resolving to intensify efforts to pressure the Congress government for the implementation of the BC Declaration.
