Hyderabad: TPCC president A Revanth Reddy on Monday demanded that the government hold a discussion on Dalit Bandhu for a day in the State Assembly and pass a resolution accordingly. “If the State government is committed to extend Rs 10 lakh assistance under Dalit Bandhu to all Dalit families in six months, we are prepared to sign on any paper,” Revanth Reddy said, addressing media persons.
With the Huzurabad bypoll around the corner, the TRS was stooping down to a new low to ensure victory in the elections, he alleged and claimed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had not convened a single review meeting on the welfare of Dalits.
The TRS, he alleged, always used Dalits as its vote bank and Dalit Bandhu was launched only to woo voters in Huzurabad constituency. “In the past, the Chief Minister promised to give three acres to each Dalit family and install a towering statue of Dr BR Ambedkar at Necklace Road. All these promises have been confined to papers,” he said. “A fact-finding committee should be constituted on Mission Kakatiya to expose the irregularities in the project,” he demanded.
