Sangareddy: Several incidents of favouritism of the official machinery came to the fore as they handed over beneficiary cheques to Congress leaders, who were holding no official positions, to distribute them to beneficiaries without any representation from officials or elected representatives. Three such incidents were reported in the Andole assembly constituency represented by Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha.

Congress leaders distributed Kalyana Lakshmi cheques to beneficiaries in Vatpally mandal headquarters. In the same mandal, Congress leaders distributed LPG subsidy letters to beneficiaries in Pothulboguda and Kammalapally villages. The Congress leaders shared pictures of their participation on various social media platforms, attracting criticism from all quarters.

In Munipally mandal, the MPDO reportedly uploaded the names of certain persons bypassing the names of eligible beneficiaries. An audio of the MPDO’s phone call in this regard went viral on social media in Munipally mandal. Following these developments, former Andole MLA and BRS leader Chanti Kranthi Kiran filed a complaint with Collector Valluru Kranthi. Kiran said these three incidents stood as evidence of officials showing favouritism to people affiliated with a certain political party, and denying benefits to eligible persons. He urged the Collector to initiate action against the people who were responsible for such incidents besides ensuring the benefits reached the poor and eligible.
