Hyderabad: BRS MLA KP Vivekananda launched a blistering attack on the Congress government, raising suspicions that the latter seems intent on delaying the implementation of the six guarantees. He cited the Congress leaders claiming that implementing the six guarantees by January 26 would require Rs 40,000 crore. He charged the Congress with neglecting governance and deceiving people with unfulfilled promises.

“Congress leaders are misleading people with repeated postponements and false assurances. Widespread pubic outrage at the ongoing Gram Sabhas across the State, exposing their anti-people governance. Instead of addressing grievances, officials are made scapegoats for the failures of the Chief Minister and the Ministers,” he said.

Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan here on Wednesday, Vivekananda criticised the Congress for prioritising political theatrics over development. He said while the Chief Minister is abroad, his Ministers were busy meeting Rahul Gandhi. “They are detached from ground realities, leaving people frustrated. Complaints from gram sabhas show the deep public anger,” he remarked, calling it “ridiculous” that the government insists all is well despite widespread protests.

He demanded an increase in the income limit for ration card eligibility to Rs 3.5 lakh in urban areas and Rs 2.5 lakh in rural areas, considering the inflation. Reminding the previous BRS government’s achievements, he noted that the K Chandrashekhar Rao-led government issued 6.5 lakh ration cards online and warned Congress against renaming double-bedroom houses built by BRS as Indiramma houses.

The BRS MLA also blamed the Congress government for ignoring the development of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. “Around 40 percent of streetlights in Greater Hyderabad are not functioning properly and yet, there is no action. The absence of a Minister from Greater Hyderabad underscores their indifference,” he said, adding that BRS will soon intensify its focus on addressing urban issues.

Further, Vivekananda asserted that the BRS would continues its fight to ensure justice for the poor and expose the Congress government’s inefficiency. “BRS will not tolerate neglect, and we will ensure that promises to the people are fulfilled,” he assured.
