Congress govt’s days are numbered for ignoring election promises: MLC Madhusudhan

BRS MLC Tata Madhusudhan accused the Congress government of abandoning election promises and deceiving people. He alleged that farmers, women and the poor were suffering, while MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra criticised the government over its dependence on Delhi.

Khammam: The Congress government’s days were numbered for ignoring election promises and deceiving the public in Telangana, stated MLC Tata Madhusudhan.

The MLC, along with former MLA Banoth Chandravathi and senior leader Gundala, took part in a ‘Vanta-Varpu’ protest held at the Karepalli mandal headquarters in the Wyra constituency in the district on Friday.

While demanding that the government fulfil its election promises, he warned that the people would teach a fitting lesson to the Congress party that came to power by making impractical and false promises.

The welfare of farmers, the poor and women was prioritised during the previous BRS regime led by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, and now people from all sections of society were suffering under Congress rule, Madhusudhan noted.

The Congress party made tall promises such as the Rs 15,000 ‘Rythu Bharosa’ scheme, ‘Kalyana Lakshmi’ assistance plus one tola gold, Rs 2,500 per month for women, scooters for female students and two lakh jobs for the unemployed, only to abandon them after assuming power.

The government remained silent while Andhra Pradesh rulers illegally diverted Godavari waters, and the situation had deteriorated to the point where motors could not be switched on to lift water to fill local tanks, he complained.

In a similar programme at Yellandu in Kothagudem, party MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra stated that administration in the State had completely stalled; Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his Cabinet colleagues were spending their time making repeated trips to Delhi.

He criticised the Ministers for rushing to Delhi over every minor issue, remarking that it hardly felt like a functioning Congress administration. The State gains nothing from parties beholden to Delhi.

The BRS, which secured Telangana’s statehood, and the leadership of Chandrashekar Rao offer the only true safeguard for the State. Revanth Reddy, who dismissed Minister Konda Surekha from her post, was evading the questions raised by her and her family members, the MP added.
