Hyderabad: BJP State president N Ramchander Rao on Monday came down heavily on the Congress government, stating that it did not have money to implement the six guarantees promised to the people but was prepared to offer Rs 1,000 crore for the National Herald case.
In a scathing attack, the BJP State president said that ever since the Congress government came to power in the state, all sections were facing hardships. Extending the BJP’s support to the protest by retired employees at Dharna Chowk here, he alleged that after becoming Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy was carrying a crowbar and Ministers were carrying tools to demolish the houses of the poor.
“It began with HYDRAA demolitions, followed by River Musi and Vegulumetla demolitions and now, even temples are not being spared. The Congress government is creating compelling situations for people to commit suicide,” Ramchander Rao charged.
He said that before the elections, employees, especially retired employees, were promised the moon, but after two and a half years of the Congress government, not a single paisa had been given towards retirement benefits. Employees’ salaries were also being delayed, he added.
“Chief Minister Revanth Reddy does not have money to extend retirement benefits and salaries to employees, but is prepared to offer Rs 1,000 crore for the Congress to fight the National Herald case,” Ramchander Rao said.
Coming down heavily on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, the BJP State president said he did not have the moral right to step into Telangana.
“Of the six guarantees, not a single guarantee has been fulfilled so far,” Ramchander Rao added.
