Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticised the Telangana Congress government for lacking a clear stance on the crucial issue of delimitation. He questioned the government’s preparedness for the all-party meeting called on the subject on Monday, stating that even Congress leaders were unsure of the party’s stance.

In a statement, Rama Rao reaffirmed the BRS’s commitment to opposing delimitation, emphasising that Telangana and other southern States stand to lose significantly if it is done on population basis alone. He pointed out that BRS was the first to highlight the adverse impact of delimitation on the south, even before DMK raised the issue.

Confirming his participation in DMK’s all-party meeting in Chennai on March 22, he said he would strongly present BRS’s stand against delimitation and challenge the Central government which is responsible for delimitation. He also questioned the role of Telangana Congress leaders, demanding accountability for their silence on an issue that could harm the State’s interests.
