Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy said all those who join the Congress party would be given priority during implementation of welfare schemes after Congress comes to power in the State.
Addressing at the party’s digital membership drive, which was launched here on Monday, the TPCC president said the party was offering Rs 2 lakh insurance coverage to each individual, who obtains membership.
Revanth Reddy said the State unit had assured AICC president Sonia Gandhi that 30 lakh members would be enrolled into the party during the membership drive and it will conclude by January 26.
“Rahul Gandhi is Congress leader and we are proud of our leadership,” said Revanth Reddy adding that orientation classes would be conducted for party mandal and district presidents on November 9 and 10.
This will be followed with Jana Jagarana programme in which party leaders will tour extensively in villages for a week from November 14. A massive public meeting would be conducted in Hyderabad on December 9, he added.
CLP leader Mallu Batti Vikramarka said as per the AICC directions, party digital membership drive was launched on Monday. The first membership was offered to TPCC president A Revanth Reddy, he said.
There have been constant attacks on Congress workers in the State, yet they were relentlessly working for the party’s cause, he said. “For the self-respect of workers, the party has decided to issue identity cards,” said Vikramarka.
