Congress leader makes suicide bid at Jeevan Reddy’s residence in Jagtial

Jagtial: Upset over the denial of a party ticket for the municipal elections, a Congress leader, Shekhar, made a suicide attempt in Jagtial on Monday. He attempted to end his life in front of senior Congress leader T Jeevan Reddy’s residence.

Shekhar allegedly doused himself with petrol and tried to set himself on fire. Alert party workers, who noticed the incident, immediately foiled the attempt and took him inside the house.

Shekhar, who had decided to contest the Jagtial municipal elections, was reportedly disappointed after learning that he would not be allotted the party ticket. In a state of distress, he took the extreme step, sources said.
