Congress leaders ignore calling on murdered party leader’s kin to console
Congress leaders, including TPCC president and state ministers, failed to visit the family of slain SC leader Marelli Anil during their tour of Medak. The absence has sparked disappointment among party workers, raising concerns of alienation at the grassroots level.

Medak: Top Congress leaders including the and a minister and MLAs who were on a tour of the district chose to ignore calling on the bereaed family of party leader Marelli Anil, who was shot dead.
The apparent cold-shouldering of the bereaved family has become the talk of town and left the party workers in dismay and confusion.
Anil was shot dead by some unidentified assailants at Variguntham in Medak district, was on his back on Monday night after participating in a party meeting in Gandhi Bhavan when he was attacked.
Pradesh Congress Committee President, Mahesh Kumar Goud, Labour Minister, G Vivekanand, senior leader Mynampally Hanumantha Rao, lone Congress MLA from Medak district, Mynampally Rohit were on Medak district tour on Thursday.
However, none of them made any visit to Anil’s village located just a few kilometers away. These key Congress leaders have spent the entire day in the district participating in multiple programmes. However, they did not even condemn the attack during their meetings. The SC wing leaders and cadre were awaiting for some response from these leaders, but they proved their expectations wrong.
Meanwhile, district minister, Damodara Rajanarasimha and another Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, who was appointed as incharge for local body elections of the erstwhile Medak, also did not make a visit to the Anil’s residence until today.
The DCC President, Anjaneyulu, and Party Narsapur constituency incharge Avula Raji Reddy were the two important Congress leaders who attended the funeral of Anil.
The kin, who were shattered after Anil was shot dead, said that they had expected some strong support from the party leadership, but it seemed that they were in no mood to express any concern to the party cadres and leaders’ families. They opined that such ignorance from party leadership will make the cadres distance from the party activities.
