Hyderabad: Leaders from the Congress party in the Palakurthi constituency joined the BRS under the leadership of former minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao. They were welcomed into the party with pink scarves offered by party president K Chandrashekhar Rao.

The event was attended by leaders including Gandhi Naik, Billa Sudheer Reddy, Animireddy, Munavat Narsimha Naik, Pasunoori Naveen Kumar, Srinivas Rao, Rangu Kumar, and others.

Support for bereaved family

The BRS on Saturday extended support to the family of Lakavath Srinu Naik, a tribal youth from Mekala Tanda in Kondapuram village, Palakurthi mandal, who ended his life at the police station following alleged torture by policemen.

Chandrashekhar Rao handed over the financial assistance of Rs.3 lakh to the family and assured them that the party would stand by them until justice was served. He also promised to visit their home when he visited Palakurthi.
