Hyderabad: TPCC working president T Jagga Reddy on Tuesday submitted his seven-page report on the dispute involving Tungaturthy MLA Mandula Samuel and the Komatireddy brothers to TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud. However, party leaders remain uncertain whether the Congress leadership will act on its findings.

Mandula Samuel has been at loggerheads with the Komatireddy brothers in recent weeks. He accused them of trying to dominate politics in Nalgonda district and alleged that they had displayed arrogance towards the Scheduled Caste community.

The dispute escalated after Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy claimed that he had recommended Samuel’s candidature to the Congress high command during the Assembly elections. He also apologised to Congress workers for campaigning hard to ensure Samuel’s victory.

Samuel rejected the claim, asserting that he had secured a comfortable victory with the support of the people and that Rajgopal Reddy had played no role in his success. He maintained that Assembly tickets were decided solely by the party high command.

The Tungaturthy MLA also criticised Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, alleging that the Minister had ignored repeated requests to sanction a two-km road in his constituency. He also made objectionable remarks against the Minister.

The infighting intensified last month when Samuel’s supporters clashed with followers of Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy in Suryapet over appointments to party mandal-level posts.

Following these incidents, the Congress leadership appointed Jagga Reddy as the party observer to examine the matter and submit a report. Though he was expected to submit the seven-page report last week, it was delayed for undisclosed reasons.

Jagga Reddy eventually handed over the report in a sealed cover to TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday.

Despite the submission of the report, several party leaders believe the State leadership may once again avoid taking disciplinary action, citing similar instances in the past.
