Hyderabad: Congress MLA from Wanaparthy Megha Reddy was left embarrassed when police stopped him for moving on the sixth floor in Secretariat here on Friday.
As Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari was arriving into the sixth floor, the police made the Wanaparthy MLA and others to stay back. Despite Megha Reddy informing that he was Wanaparthy MLA, the police stopped him from heading further.
Irked over the police behaviour, Megha Reddy reportedly asked “When the Chief Secretary arrives should there be no people in the entire floor,”
Megha Reddy was left embarrassed as the police failed to recognize him as Wanaparthy MLA.
This is not the first time when a Congress MLA was left embarrassed by the police.
In September, Congress MLA Vemula Veeresham had lodged a complaint with Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar that Rachakonda police had humiliated him when he wanted to receive Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy at a helipad during a programme in Nalgonda.
In his complaint, the Congress MLA had said that the police failed to recognize and made him to stay back.
