Congress MPs and MLCs head to Siddipet to examine land records

Congress MPs and MLCs headed to Siddipet on Friday amid allegations of land irregularities involving elected representatives. The team is likely to visit the Collector’s Office and examine land records as part of an initiative to bring alleged irregularities to light.

Hyderabad: Amid a political confrontation over allegations of land wealth amassed by a few elected public representatives, Congress MPs and MLCs left for Siddipet on Friday in a special bus from the Assembly.

The MPs and MLCs are likely to visit the Siddipet Collector’s Office and examine a few land records.

Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna said the objective of the Telangana Congress was to bring to light facts concerning allegations of land irregularities, misuse of public funds and abuse of power during the previous BRS government’s tenure.

Speaking while proceeding to Siddipet along with other Congress MPs and MLCs as part of the collective initiative, the MP said the team had set out following instructions from Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi.

Vamsi Krishna said, “The truth behind allegations involving public money, lands, and government resources must come to light. We will present the full facts to the people.”

He added that there was a need for accountability regarding the previous government’s performance, particularly concerning jobs and employment opportunities for the youth.
