Karimnagar: As part of the nationwide agitation in protest against hike in price of diesel and petrol, Congress leaders staged protest demonstrations across erstwhile Karimnagar district on Friday.

Congress leaders led by MLC T Jeevan Reddy dragged an auto-rikshaw with ropes from Indira bhavan to Jagtial new bus stand chowk where they staged rasta roko. Police tried to clear the traffic and tried to convince the Congress groups to disperse. When they refused to vacate the spot, the police shifted them to the police station. Jeevan Reddy registered his protest by lying down on the road.
