Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao questioned the absence of governance in Telangana, accusing the Congress of failing to deliver on its promises and neglecting key welfare schemes. He said the Congress was running an ACB-JCB government in the State, rather than delivering the people’s governance promised during the elections.

“This government knows only about demolition, but not construction. What is it doing – people’s governance or vendetta governance? Surveys are okay, but where are the welfare schemes? Despite all this, what is the Congress high command is doing after making all those tall promises?” he asked.

In a series of posts on X, Rama Rao raised concerns over the plight of farmers, students, and the poor under Congress rule, labeling the past year as a period of betrayal and inaction. He pointed out the government’s failure to implement its much-touted six guarantees, questioning why the Congress leadership remains silent on such crucial issues.

“Farmers are struggling at paddy procurement centres, and the Congress leadership is indifferent. Houses of the poor are being demolished under the guise of Musi River development project and HYDRAA, yet there is no response from Rahul Gandhi or the Congress high command,” he remarked.

The BRS working president criticised the government for delaying financial support for farmers, including the promised Rs 15,000 annual assistance under Rythu Bharosa and implementing partial loan waivers. “How can farmers survive when even schemes like Rythu Bandhu, which provided timely investment aid during the BRS tenure, are disrupted? Is this Revanth Reddy’s return gift to farmers for voting to him?” he asked, adding that while BRS’ motto is ‘Jai Kisan’, Congress’ policy is ‘No Kisan’.

The former Minister also slammed the Congress for halting the progress made under the BRS government and forcing farmers to stage protests and weavers to commit suicide. “K Chandrashekhar Rao’s initiatives like Bathukamma sarees empowered weavers. But now, the looms are silent again, forcing weavers to commit suicides and leaving their children in despair,” he said.
