Hyderabad: The Congress leaders and workers staged protests across the State on Thursday against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s demand for drafting a new Constitution.
A protest was also held at Gandhi Bhavan here. Addressing on the occasion, TPCC president A Revanth Reddy said Congress would continue its protest until the Chief Minister withdraws his remarks and tenders an unconditional apology.
The TPCC chief reiterated that the Chief Minister was acting as per the instructions of BJP top leaders. “The fact that the Chief Minister is calling for a new Constitution is in tune with BJP’s selfish anti-weaker sections agenda,” alleged Revanth Reddy.
He further charged that the Chief Minister ignored the welfare of dalits and considered them just a vote-bank. “The Dalit Bandhu scheme is also meant to cheat the people. It is not for any love for Dalits but his way of buying their votes,” said Revanth Reddy.
