Hyderabad: As new-age technology becomes an indispensable tool for professionals across sectors, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a force to reckon with.

Once confined to niche domains, AI is proving instrumental in diverse fields including medicine, marketing, engineering, information technology and architecture.
Now, AI is making inroads into politics as well.

While AI is already being used to generate images and social media content for official handles of political parties, a new trend is emerging — training political leaders in use of AI to make them election-ready. This innovative approach marks a significant evolution in how parties prepare their leaders for the modern-day political battlefields.

The Congress party in Madhya Pradesh is turning to Artificial Intelligence to bring a digital transformation to counter the BJP after a crushing defeat in the State in December 2023.

It is said that all the party MLAs of the State, district presidents, constituency in-charges and district in-charges will have mandatory training sessions on AI from June 9. The training will include social media conduct, misinformation detection and the use of AI.

Reports suggest, in a closed-door meeting, the party resolved that it was ideologically on weak ground and that its digital instincts were outdated. According to reports, two leaders, AICC MP In-charge Harish Chaudhary and State Congress chief Jitu Pawar also said in the meeting that the party required comprehensive training by sharpening technology and discipline.

Better usage of mobile phones, distinguishing between real and fake news and identifying misinformation will be focused on extensively in the training programmes.

Subject matter experts will be conducting these training sessions. The workshops are likely to be held for 2-3 days.
