Hyderabad: TPCC president A Revanth Reddy claimed on Thursday that the Congress would win at least 72 seats in the next Assembly elections and “no force on earth can stop the party from coming to power.”
“The present political climate is in favour of the Congress party and activists should work more for the party’s cause,” Revanth Reddy said, addressing party leaders at Gandhi Bhavan here. He wanted leaders to submit constituency-wise reports from the 119 Assembly constituencies and separate reports on 17 Parliament constituencies. “Mandal level leaders should work harder as this will pave the way for the party’s victory,” he said.
Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka demanded that the State government implement the Dalit Bandhu scheme across the State and not confine it to Huzurabad constituency as a pilot project. “This scheme is part of the various welfare schemes launched by the Congress in the past,” he said.
Stressing that there was not much time left for elections, AICC Telangana in-charge Manickam Tagore wanted the leadership to focus on strengthening the party at grass root level and directed that there should not be any lethargy in the exercise. The exercise to appoint booth committees and booth level agents should be taken up at the earliest, he said.
“Focus should be on exposing corruption in the State government. Demands should be made for CBI and judicial enquiries on corruption,” he said.
