Congress workers worried over MLA PA’s alleged interference in Manakondur

Congress workers in Manakondur Assembly constituency have alleged that MLA Kavvampally Satyanarayana’s PA Muralidhar Reddy is interfering in party and official matters and harassing dissenting workers, with two workers reportedly attempting to end their lives over alleged harassment.

Siddipet: Congress workers of Manakondur Assembly constituency are worried as the personal assistant of the MLA Kavvampally Satyanarayana has begun acting as de facto MLA in the constituency. The party workers accused the PA Muralidhar Reddy of influencing every decision of the Congress Party in the assembly constituency and the decisions of officials.

The constituency is spread across Siddipet, Karimnagar and Rajanna Siricilla districts where the Congress workers find themselves at the receiving end. Shockingly, he had begun harassing his own party cadres as MLA Kavvammampally Satyanarayana allegedly became a puppet in his hands.

While a Congress worker immolated himself at MLA’s camp office in July this year, another Congress worker from Siddipet district threatened to end his life on Tuesday, reportedly being unable to bear harassment from Muralidhar Reddy.

Former Gundlapally sarpanch’s husband and senior Congress leader Rajendar Reddy allegedly immolated himself at the MLA camp office in Manakondur in July this year. On Tuesday, Congress worker Metta Nagaraju of Gundaram in Bejjanki mandal of Siddipet district left a message on a WhatsApp group informing the group members that he would commit suicide.

Nagaraju, who worked as social media constituency incharge until the elections were held in 2023, lamented that he had worked so hard for the victory of the MLA. However, his friends rescued him at Ambedkar Grounds in Ganneruvaram mandal hours later.

In both the incidents, the victims accused Muralidhar Reddy of influencing the police to file false cases against them while the MLA remained silent even though they had passed the information to him. These are not the only two incidents, several workers have become victims in the constituency.

While maintaining his own group in the constituency, Muralidhar Reddy had begun suppressing the leaders who were raising their voice against his anti-party activities. Since he was playing a key role in getting appointments to police officials, tahasildars and other officials in Manakondur constituency, Muralidhar Reddy was influencing the same officers to act against his rivals within the party.

Shockingly, the MLA had remained a mute spectator, which left the cadres and leaders in serious disappointment. The victims observed that the Congress will never win the seat again if Muralidhar Reddy continues to stay in the same post for the next two years.
