Constable on duty assaulted in Telangana’s Kothagudem
The accused youths, Pawan, Pradeep and Promod allegedly attacked the constable, Shekhar and ran away
Kothagudem: An incident of some youths allegedly assaulting an on-duty Blue Colt constable in Kothagudem district headquarters came to light on Sunday.
The incident took place on Saturday night at Hanuman Basthi area in the town. It was said that the accused youths, Pawan, Pradeep and Promod attacked the constable, Shekhar and ran away. It was reported that the youths, who attacked the constable, approached the followers of the local MLA to settle the matter. The seriously injured constable was undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Persons connected with the sand mafia were among the accused. The three-town police were probing into the matter and yet to nab the accused, sources said.
