Medak: A police constable was suspended on the charge of harassing a woman teacher on Wednesday.
The constable, Ramu, allegedly befriended the woman when she came to lodge a complaint against her husband for harassing her.
He took her phone number and started harassing her over the phone. When she blocked his number, the constable allegedly went to her residence and threatened her with serious consequences.
Unable to bear the harassment, the woman registered a complaint with the Narsapur police, following which SP D Uday Kumar Reddy placed the constable under suspension after an inquiry.
Ramu (35), a 2013 batch constable, reportedly went to the woman’s home on November 4 and threatened her with serious consequences.
The woman filed the complaint the following day. Ramu, who worked at Medak police station previously, was earlier suspended for demanding a bribe in a case a year ago.
