Container lorry crashes into hotel at Huzurnagar, no injuries reported

A container lorry veered off the road and crashed into a hotel at Indira Chowk in Huzurnagar on Saturday. No injuries were reported as people escaped in time. Locals demanded traffic signals and road widening to prevent such accidents.

Suryapet: A container lorry travelling from Kodad to Miryalaguda suddenly went off the road at Indira Chowk in Huzurnagar and crashed into a roadside hotel on Saturday. People inside the hotel ran to safety on seeing the lorry heading towards them, averting a major tragedy.

No injuries were reported as the surroundings of the hotel were almost empty at the time of the crash. Police reached the spot, diverted traffic and towed the vehicle from the location.

Residents have demanded road widening and installation of traffic signals to curb recurring mishaps at the junction. Local people blamed the absence of a traffic circle and rising traffic congestion for the incident.
