Hyderabad: Hyderabad were reeling against Andhra, trailing by a mammoth 305 runs with five wickets in hand, at the end of second day in the four-day Elite Group D Cooch Behar match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Andhra, resuming at the overnight score of 254/3, went on to make 403 runs in 131.5 overs. Wicketkeeper Mkdatta scored a fine 58-ball 57 while lower order contributed well to lift their side to commanding total. For Hyderabad, Murugan Abhishek and B Punnaiah grabbed three wickets apiece.
Later, Hyderabad batters came a cropper. After a strong 68-run opening stand, they fell like a pack of cards losing five wickets for 29 runs, to end the day at 98/5 in 39 overs. Barring openers A Avinash (47) and Aman Rao (28), others failed to cross single digits.
Brief Scores: Andhra 403 in 131/5 overs (Mkdatta 57; M Abhishek 3/90, B Punnaiah 3/97) vs Hyderabad 98/5 in 30 overs.
