Hyderabad: Bengal’s lower order batter Rahul Chowdhary slammed an unbeaten 121 off 133 to guide Bengal to 383/9 in 86 overs to give his side a lead of 296 at stumps on the third day of the Elite Group D Cooch Behar match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday.
After restricting Hyderabad to 306 runs to concede a first-innings lead of 87 runs, Bengal batters put on an improved batting show. After losing the first three wickets for 50 runs, Abishek Porel (85 off 88) and Shashank Singh (54 off 83) added 114 runs of the fourth wicket before the former departed.
Though Shashank departed soon, Rahul stitched a 73-run partnership with Dewendra and a 92-run stand with Debopratim Halder (47) to take his side past the 350-run mark. For Hyderabad, Advaith Reddy and Bhuvangagiri Punnaiah scalped three wickets each.
