Cops arrest CPI (M) leaders who called for dharna at UoH

Hyderabad: Demanding withdrawal of land auction in Kanche Gachibowli and release of all detained university students, the CPI (M) leaders who called for dharna at UoH campus here on Tuesday were arrested by police.
In a statement, the CPI (M) claimed that police were brutal on the protesters and lathi-charged them for protesting at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) main gate on their demands.
Not only the voices of those questioning the land auction were being suppressed, but those who support them were also being attacked, the CPI (M) said.
The communist party claimed that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy imposed an undeclared emergency in the State in the name of ‘Indrammam Rajyam’, cracking down any protest against the government.
The CPI (M) leaders demanded removal of police force from the university besides canceling the land auction.
