Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills police on Thursday arrested P Charan Teja, husband of Armed Reserve constable M Sandhya Rani on charges of harassing and abusing her. According to the police, Sandhya Rani, who was already married with a daughter, had married Charan Teja last year.

A few months after their marriage, she was allegedly abused in the name of caste and harassed by Charan Teja and his family members, following which she approached the police and lodged a complaint. A few days ago, Charan Teja also lodged a complaint saying Sandhya Rani trapped him in the name of love and married him at the Arya Samaj in Kukatpally.

He told the police that she threatened to foist a case against him if he did not marry her and also publicise their selfies. Charan recorded a selfie video with all the allegations and sent it to the Shamshabad DCP and Shabad police seeking action against his wife.
