Hyderabad: The Government Railway Police, who are investigating the death of junior artiste Jyothi Reddy, suspect that she was critically injured and died after being caught between the train compartment’s stairs and the platform.
Jyothi, who was working for a private bank and pursuing acting as well, was a native of Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh. She was returning to Hyderabad after celebrating Sankranti festival at her native place when the incident occurred on Tuesday morning.
Police said when she reached Shadnagar, Jyothi, who was reportedly sleepy, mistook it to be Kachiguda station and hurriedly got down. When she realised it was not her station, she immediately tried to get back into the compartment.
In the attempt, she accidentally slipped and fell. She was found with injuries on the railway track. The police shifted her to Osmania General Hospital for treatment and later she was shifted to a private hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead. Her relatives and friends demanded the police conduct a thorough investigation into her death.
