Couple held for theft in Hyderabad

The arrested Zakiya Sultana (46) and her husband Mohd Abdul Saleem (47), both residents of Mailardevpally had entered into a house at Ramnasthapura in Kalapather and made away with gold ornaments weighing tolas from the cupboard.

Hyderabad: The Kalapather police on Tuesday arrested a couple who were allegedly involved in a theft reported at a house ten days ago.

The arrested Zakiya Sultana (46) and her husband Mohd Abdul Saleem (47), both residents of Mailardevpally had entered into a house at Ramnasthapura in Kalapather and made away with gold ornaments weighing tolas from the cupboard.


“Zakiya entered the house after noticing the gate was opened. After going inside she observed that the rooms were open and no persons were around. Zakiya walked into one the rooms, opened the cupboard and collected the gold ornaments before escaping the place. Saleem kept a watch outside the house,” said ACP Falaknuma, Mohd Jaweed.

The couple were produced before the court and remanded.
