Hyderabad: The Nacharam police on Thursday confirmed the arrest of Moin Khan and Neha Begum on charges of murdering Sohail, 22, over an extramarital affair on Tuesday. Officials said Sohail was harassing Neha to leave her husband for him and also threatened to kill her family.
According to the police, further investigation revealed that during their stay in Warasiguda earlier, Neha and Sohail developed an extramarital affair. However, with Moin Khan knowing about the affair, issues started between the couple and Moin shifted with the family to Mallapur in Nacharam three months ago.
Sohail found out the address and started coming to the house in Moin’s absence and pressurized Neha to go with him, said T.Kiran Kumar, Inspector (Nacharam).
On August 3, Sohail came to Neha’s house and attempted suicide by slitting his throat, after which Neha approached the police and lodged a harassment complaint against him. The case was under investigation and he was absconding.
“Unable to take further harassment from Sohail, the couple decided to eliminate him. Since the last one week, she had called him several times to her house, but suspecting he would be caught by the police, he did not come,” the Inspector said. She again called him to her house in the early hours of Tuesday, where the couple allegedly slit his throat and killed him.
