COVID-19: 2055 new infections and 7 deaths in Telangana

The number of Covid-19 infections in areas under GHMC has now shot-up to 398 while Medchal-Malkajgiri district has reported 214 fresh Covid-19 infections.

Hyderabad: Covid-19 infections have continued to rapidly rise in the second wave of Covid-19 in Telangana with authorities reporting 2055 new cases and seven fatalities as on Wednesday. The number of Covid-19 tests have been ramped-up with authorities in the last 24-hours managing to conduct 87, 332 Covid-19 tests while results of another 4457 samples are being processed.

The number of Covid-19 infections in areas under GHMC has now shot-up to 398 while Medchal-Malkajgiri district has reported 214 fresh Covid-19 infections. Similarly, Nirmal district has reported 100 new infections while 169 cases were reported from Nizamabad. A total of 174 new Covid-19 infections have been reported from Rangareddy district while 99 more cases were reported from Jagtiyal on Wednesday.


As on Wednesday, the cumulative number of active Covid-19 infections in Telangana has risen to 13,362 out of which 8,263 positive individuals are under home and institutional isolation. With seven Covid-19 related deaths, the cumulative number of fatalities as on Wednesday has reached 1741.

With 2055 new Covid-19 infections, the total number of positive cases since the pandemic has now reached 3,18,704. A total of 303 persons have recovered on Wednesday, taking the total recoveries in the State to 3,03,601 with a recovery rate of 95.26 percent, while the countrywide recovery rate was 91.7 percent.

So far, a total of 1,06,59,953 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 3,18,704 have tested positive and 3, 03, 601 persons have recovered.

The Covid-19 positive cases reported from the districts included 24 from Adilabad, 10 from Bhadradri, 398 from areas under GHMC, 99 from Jagtiyal, 18 Jangaon, 12 from Bhupalpally, eight from Gadwal, 58 from Kamareddy, 77 from Karimnagar, 50 from Khammam, 41 from Asifabad, 60 from Mahabubnagar, eight from Mahabubabad, 57 from Mancherial, 19 from Medak, 214 from Medchal Malkajgiri, three from Mulugu, 25 from Nagarkurnool, 54 from Nalgonda, seven from Narayanpet, 100 from Nirmal, 169 from Nizamabad, 33 from Peddapalli, 36 from Siricilla, 174 from Rangareddy, 65 from Sangareddy, 35 from Siddipet, 34 from Suryapet, 38 from Vikarabad, 21 from Wanaparthy, 11 from Warangal Rural, 74 from Warangal Urban and 23 from Yadadri.
