COVID-19: 3,187 cases and seven fatalities from Telangana on Saturday

Hyderabad: The Covid-19 infections during the ongoing second-wave of the pandemic in Telangana have breached the 3,000 mark.

On Saturday, the health authorities have reported 3,187 cases and seven deaths.


For the first time during the second-wave, the total number of Covid-19 cases from areas under GHMC also crossed the 500 mark on Saturday.

The health department continued to maintain a high range of Covid-19 tests. Between Friday and Saturday, 1,15,311 Covid-19 rapid antigen tests were conducted.

As on Saturday, the total number of active Covid-19 cases in Telangana has reached 20,184 out of which 13,366 positive individuals are under home and institutional isolation. With seven more deaths, the cumulative number of fatalities due to Covid-19 so far in Telangana has reached 1759.

The trend of rising infections in Hyderabad and other smaller towns in the State has also continued.

On Saturday, authorities reported 551 cases from GHMC areas while another 333 positive cases were reported from Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

A total of 271 positive cases were reported from Rangareddy and 251 from Nizamabad.

From Jagtiyal, authorities reported 134 positive cases while 113 positive cases were reported from Kamareddy district. Authorities reported another 154 positive cases from Nirmal and 104 cases each from Sangareddy and Karimnagar districts.

With 3,187 cases, the total number of positive cases since the pandemic has now reached 3,27,278. A total of 787 persons have recovered on Saturday, taking the total recoveries in the State to 3,05,335.

So far, a total of 1,09,88,976 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 3,27,278 have tested positive and 3,05,335 persons have recovered.

The Covid-19 cases reported from the districts included 92 from Adilabad, 37 from Bhadradri, 134 from Jagtiyal, 20 Jangaon, 17 from Bhupalpally, 14 from Gadwal, 113 from Kamareddy, 104 from Karimnagar, 79 from Khammam, 35 from Asifabad, 73 from Mahabubnagar, 18 from Mahabubabad, 59 from Mancherial, 53 from Medak, 13 from Mulugu, 35 from Nagarkurnool, 83 from Nalgonda, 10 from Narayanpet, 154 from Nirmal, 251 from Nizamabad, 29 from Peddapalli, 57 from Siricilla, 271 from Rangareddy, 104 from Sangareddy, 81 from Siddipet, 55 from Suryapet, 68 from Vikarabad, 59 from Wanaparthy, 27 from Warangal Rural, 98 from Warangal Urban and 60 from Yadadri.
