Covid-19: 8,126 new cases and 38 fatalities in Telangana on Saturday

The areas under GHMC, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy districts together have reported over 2,500 cases in the last 24-hours.

Hyderabad: The Covid -19 cases continued to rise sharply in Telangana with 8,126 new Covid infections and 38 fatalities reported on Saturday, which is an all-time single-day surge in new cases and fatalities.

The cumulative number of active Covid cases in Telangana has reached 62,929 of which 18,781 positive patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals while 44,148 positive cases are in home or institutional isolation centres. The cumulative number of infections has now gone-up to 3,95,232 while the total number of fatalities has reached 1,999.


The impact of the second wave of the Covid could be observed across the State with officials reporting more than 100 cases in 26 districts. The areas under GHMC, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy districts together have reported over 2,500 cases in the last 24-hours.

Between Friday and Saturday, officials conducted 1,08,602 Covid test. So far, a total of 1,24,93,399 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 3,95,232 have tested positive and 3,30,304 persons have recovered.

In the last 24-hours, 3,307 patients have recovered, pushing the cumulative number of recoveries to 3,30,304 with a recovery rate of 83.5 percent in Telangana and 83 percent across the country.

The Covid-19 positive cases reported from the districts included 119 from Adilabad, 187 from Bhadradri, 1,259 from areas under GHMC, 264 from Jagtiyal, 140 from Jangaon, 55 from Bhupalpally, 70 from Gadwal, 180 from Kamareddy, 286 from Karimnagar, 339 from Khammam, 90 from Asifabad, 306 from Mahabubnagar, 148 from Mahabubabad, 233 from Mancherial, 192 from Medak, 676 from Medchal-Malkajgiri, 63 from Mulugu, 47 from Nagarkurnool, 346 from Nalgonda, 49 from Narayanpet, 68 from Nirmal, 497 from Nizamabad, 121 from Peddapalli, 164 from Siricilla, 591 from Rangareddy, 201 from Sangareddy, 306 from Siddipet, 168 from Suryapet, 185 from Vikarabad, 100 from Wanaparthy, 175 from Warangal Rural, 334 from Warangal Urban and 167 from Bhongir.
