Warangal Rural: In a tragic incident, a 25-year-old man has committed suicide by jumping before a moving train near Warangal railway station in the wee hours of Monday as he was reportedly ‘depressed’ over home isolation following COVID-19 infection.

The deceased person was identified as Chityala Ranjith Kumar, a resident of Gorrekunta village of Geesugonda mandal in the district.

According to his relatives, Ranjith tested positive for COVID-19  about 10 days ago and was asked to be in home isolation by taking medicine. Both his mother Mallamma and his wife Ramya were taking care of him since then. However, he left the house without informing them in the wee hours of Monday while they were asleep and committed suicide. Noticing the body, the Warangal railway police have informed the matter to his family. It is said that Ramya was seven- month pregnant. Ranjith was working as a daily wage earner and sole breadwinner of the family.
