Covid surge continues in Telangana, 4,559 positive cases registered on Tuesday

Hyderabad: Telangana on Tuesday registered 4,559 Covid-19 infections out of which 1450 positive cases were from areas under GHMC. The health authorities have also reported two Covid-19 fatalities on Tuesday, taking the overall number of deaths in TS to 4,077.

The active Covid-19 positive infections in Telangana, as on Tuesday have surged to 36,269.

The Omicron driven Covid infections are also registering significant increase in other urban centres with authorities reporting 432 cases from Medchal-Malkajgiri, 322 cases in Rangareddy district, 201 from Hanumakonda, 145 from Khammam, 112 from Karimnagar, 138 from Nalgonda, 93 from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 98 from Mahabubnagar and 99 from Mancherial.

The health department conducted 1,13,670 Covid tests on Tuesday out of which results of 7,695 samples were awaited. On Tuesday, 1,961 individuals had recovered with a recovery rate of 94.57 per cent.

So far, a total of 3,15,89,602 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 7,43,354 have tested positive and 7,03,008 persons have recovered.
