Hyderabad: The School Education Department on Saturday said that it is not mandatory for students attending schools to undergo a Covid-19 test. However, students/teachers/staff with cough, cold and fever have to stay at home till symptoms subside or to get testing done, according to a memo issued by the department on the reopening of schools here.

At the same time, schools were asked to provide hand sanitisers/hand wash facilities with soap and water at convenient location. They were also asked to ensure provision of safe drinking water and toilets with running water with frequent cleaning.

Wearing of face mask by students, teachers and staff was already made mandatory while schools were also instructed to follow physical distancing for classroom seating arrangements.
