Khammam: CPI (M) district secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao has announced that the party has planned to contest the upcoming Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ constituency MLC election.
Speaking at a meeting here on Saturday he said that the party was holding discussions with like-minded individuals and forces to build a coalition for the elections scheduled for February or March next year.
The election campaign would focus on the issues faced by students, youth, women, the working class, employees and intellectuals. Critical political issues concerning the development of both the nation and the State would be explained to the voters, he said.
Nageswara Rao pointed out that there were millions of educated youth across the country and the State and it was the responsibility of the governments to provide them with dignified employment opportunities.
However, governments have failed miserably in this regard and the rising unemployment rate was irrefutable evidence of their failure. The current socio-economic crisis is driving the youth to participate in large-scale movements questioning governments through democratic means, he added.
