Police obstruct women organisations members from heading towards Lagacharla village
Hyderabad: The treatment meted out to a fact-finding team from the Women Joint Action Committee (JAC) on its way to Lagacherla village to investigate alleged police excesses has drawn flak.
The CPI(ML)News Democracy State Committee called it undemocratic. Taking strong exception to the way the team was stopped from entering the village thus forcing it to return to Hyderabad without completing its mission, the committee condemned the dictatorial stance of the administration.
The team included the national convenor of POW, V. Sandhya and other prominent women activists. The State committee also criticized the police action and demanded that the State government refrain from allocating agricultural lands to any private entities.
