CPI slams Modi for comments on Telangana
The Modi government failed to fulfill promises including setting up of Kazipet coach factory, Bayyaram steel factory, national status for a project in Telangana, Tribal University, and several others
Warangal: CPI State Secretariat member Takkallapalli Srinivas Rao has lambasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remarks in Parliament on the formation of Telangana, and accused the latter of making a mockery of the sacrifices of the people of Telangana.
Speaking to Telangana Today, he said Modi, who made similar remarks in the past, was not in favour of Telangana. “The Modi government failed to fulfill promises including setting up of Kazipet coach factory, Bayyaram steel factory, national status for a project in Telangana, Tribal University, and several others,” the CPI leader said, and accused the Centre of playing with the lives of the Telangana people.
“The Centre is even conspiring to privatize the new coal mines of the SCCL. It is clear now that the BJP government at the Centre is discriminating against the people of Telangana. BJP leaders, who boast of being an alternative in Telangana, should question the Prime Minister’s remarks if they have guts,” Srinivas Rao said.
He appealed to the people of Telangana to reject the BJP’s divisive rhetoric, and demanded that Telangana MPs protest against the privatisation of Singareni mines in the current session of the Parliament.
