Khammam: CPI leadership in the district has consented to support the TRS candidate for Khammam Local Authorities’ Constituency (LAC) MLC election, T Madhusudhan. The candidate along with Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar and MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy called on former MLA and CPI senior leaders Puvvada Nageshwar Rao, B Hemanth Rao and the party district secretary P Prasad at the CPI district office here on Wednesday.
Following a request by the minister, MLC and Madhusudhan the CPI leaders have responded positively and agreed to support the candidate in the MLC election, said a statement from the TRS district office. A meeting of TRS corporators was held at the party office where Ajay Kumar and Rajeshwar Reddy asked the corporators to make efforts to elect the TRS Khammam LAC candidate with a huge majority.
A similar meeting was also held at Madhira where the ZP Chairman, L Kamal Raj told the party MPTC members and municipal councillors to strive for the victory of Madhusudhan in the election. He said the contest for MLC seat was one-sided as around 70 per cent of MPTC and ZPTC members, councillors and corporators in erstwhile Khammam belong to the TRS party. Everyone should abide by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s decision to field Madhusudhan in the election.
Meanwhile, Rajeshwar Reddy and Madhusudhan held a meeting at Sathupalli with the elected members of the local bodies from Wyra and Sathupally Assembly constituencies.
